Digital Society Studies is an academic journal that focuses on the study of digital society within the context of social, cultural, economic, and political transformations in the information age. It emphasizes critical inquiry into how digital technologies reconfigure social relations, reshape identities, and influence everyday practices in contemporary life. The journal publishes descriptive, analytical, and critical contributions addressing a wide range of issues, including digital transformation, algorithmic culture, digital platforms, digital inclusion and exclusion, and the changing dynamics of social interaction in cyberspace. It also engages with emerging themes such as digital translocality, digital multiculturalism, identity hybridity, and the “in-between” conditions arising from human–technology interactions. Digital Society Studies welcomes interdisciplinary research that examines how societies respond to global and transnational flows mediated by digital platforms. In this perspective, digital society is not only viewed as an object of transformation but also as an active agent capable of generating alternative spaces—such as digital communities, technology-driven social innovations, and new forms of knowledge and social practice. Furthermore, the journal integrates conceptual approaches with thematic issue design, aligning each edition with both global digital trends and locally grounded social issues. As a result, each issue carries a distinct character while contributing to a comprehensive and evolving understanding of digital society, positioning the journal as a sustained and authoritative scholarly reference.
